Denver's Blizzard: March, 2003

Monday, March 17: Denver had rain, thunderstorms, hail, tornados and then it turned to snow!
(Last week we had several days of 70 degree weather.)

This is in southeast Denver, just north of the Tech Center

I hadn't thought to leave the yardstick in for pictures yet . . . it was about 14" here. It started snowing around 10:30 pm on 3/17.

Colorado definitely needs all this moisture because of the drought, but all from one storm?!

I know there's some snow falling from the tree above, but still, that's a lot of snow!

A clump of snow fell from the roof and now the snow's all packed down around the yardstick. It's stopped snowing and I don't hthink it's going to cover the yardstick now.

It's snowing again, but the temp was higher than 32 earlier so it was also starting to melt. Look how much snow has fallen off the fence here.
